Hi Blog! This week was pretty productive, but I am officially not "on schedule" anymore. But not to worry, because I expected this to happen and planned for it. This just means that I'll be doing more animation next semester. But, next semester I'll be a part time student, so I'll have a lot more time in my day to worry about the film.  Things are really getting busy for me outside of the film: I have some papers piling up, layout design for Spectator is due this month; and just in general it's that point in the semester where I'm tired . I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving break. On the bright side, I just finished two commissions that were stressing me out, so now I can really focus on Caffè.  This past week I animated 4 shots: two more minor shots that I burned through on Monday (which is funnily enough, one of my most productive days of the week. Week 6 - Progress

Not much new to report! I'm mooostly on-track with animation. So far, I've had to push one less-important shot to another week, and I've been having a little trouble I like to call going "off-boards" when I finally get around to animating. Sometimes when two drawings do the trick for an animatic, you realize that those two drawings were accounting for 8 seconds of animation...and it's easy to want to make every second count! I'm starting to become a little worried that my schedule/point system were overambitious, because well, my semester hasn't really hit full-gear until about now. I hope I can stay on-track with the schedule alongside the papers and midterms I'm about to have coming up...as well as doing some job-searching...future-planning...and another job that I'll start later this month. Week 8 Updates

Oops, this update is late but honestly I forgot because there's not a whole lot new to report -- This week I'm just working on a single (longer) shot, where the little girl tries to get the ball away from the little boy by kissing him. I'm almost done with rough animation. It's Tuesday! Somewhere down the line I subconsciously decided I like the look of crisper lines. Also, I don't want the colorists I've hired to suffer too much with guess work. So I'm anticipating a couple of long tedious days this week doing line cleanup. My goals this week are: finally starting hand off scenes to my colorists, which means first cleaning up some rough animation...I need to decide which shot will become my proof of concept (there are a few contenders), and hopefully I'll get that totally inked and figured out by the end of the week so that this weekend I can work on a background for it and really get into the nitty-gritty next week (next week is one of my busier,...
